ABSTRACT
436The world of information technology continues to change at an accelerated pace. Cloud computing solutions are very much leading the pack, driving various models, solutions, and standards. The returns-oninvestment can be tremendous, but likewise, so are the risks. Without solution-based measurement, the full benefits cannot be realized from the cloud, nor can the risks be adequately managed. This chapter will use several real-life scenarios and outline how measurement can be leveraged in cloud computing environments, while driving solutions. However, before we get there, first we need to understand what is “cloud computing”?
