ABSTRACT
An electronic nose is a sensing device capable of producing a digital fi ngerprint, also known as pattern, of a group of chemical volatiles which characterize a specifi c odour. Such devices consist of two main components: a chemical sensing system and a pattern recognition system (Ortega et al. 2000).
