ABSTRACT
Sites identified for construction of engineered facilities should be explored in detail by qualified and experienced professional geotechnical engineers or by qualified professional engineering geologists who have specialized in work of this nature. The final decision on the suitability and feasibility of a site cannot be taken until subsurface conditions at the site have been fully explored, described and recorded.
