ABSTRACT
The objective of this investigation is the development of a modelling strategy that can be applied to investigate the permeability increase due to mechanical deterioration of rock salt at grain scale. In order to simulate the shape and arrangement of crystal grains in rock salt, the distinct element code 3DEC was applied using polyhedral elements for the simulation.
