Here the strain rate is dependent on grain size D and Δσ = σ1−σ3, the differential stress. B = B0 exp (−Q/RT) [(σ1−σ3)/TDm] is the viscosity of the halite. B0 is a material dependent parameter, Q is the specific activation energy. The parameter m describes strain rate dependence on the grain size.
