ABSTRACT

In a first joint project between 2004 and 2006, the authors and the BGR Hannover have collaboratively documented and compared their advanced geomechanical constitutive models and procedures for the determination of salt type-specific parameter values and for the performance of numerical simulations. In back-calculations of a number of selected laboratory deformation tests and simple, but representative 2-D model structures, the partners checked the general ability of their models to describe reliably the deformation behavior of rock salt under various influences (Schulze et al., 2007, Hou et al., 2007, Hampel et al., 2010a).
