ABSTRACT
The reactions with soluble salts-sometimes coupled with a drop of the pH value-favors the use of water-glass for the grouting of evaporite rocks. They open up the chance of grouting without the use of an additional hardener. However, sufficient knowledge about the chemical and mineralogical interactions with the rocks and brines is essential for an evaluation of the long-term stability of the grouts.
