Performance of tight historic drift seals from the viewpoint of current knowledge on EDZ

Due to the damaged state of the EDZ, the hydrofrac criterion is solely applied for the assessment of the EDZ’s tightness. Traditionally, when applying the hydrofrac criterion, the minimum principal stress without pore pressure (pfl = 0) is compared with the hypothetical hydrostatic depthdependent brine pressure (DBE 2004).
