ABSTRACT
Thermo-mechanical stresses are practically negligible in conventional mining because the temperature changes are marginal, but they represent at least a contour problem for high-frequency cavern storage and can potentially affect the whole geological barrier for the case of final disposal of heatgenerating radioactive waste.
