ABSTRACT
A sound micromechanical investigation relies on the strict control of sample microstructure. Therefore we synthesized a damage-free material, characterized by narrow grain size distribution, low porosity and limited deformation related microstructures. We followed similar techniques as those developed by Peach & Spiers (1996).
