ABSTRACT
Metallic biomaterials are in extensive use in the early twenty-rst century throughout medicine, dentistry, and biotechnology [1,2]. The use of such materials is not new: the Romans, Chinese, and Aztecs used biomaterials such as gold for dentistry more than 2000 years ago.
