ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the security and dependability issues related to the desktop grid. As stated by Choi and Buyya [CB10], desktop grids are also called volunteer computing, global computing, public resource computing, and peer-to-peer computing. In this chapter, we use these terms interchangeably.
