Professor Nikolai M. Emanuel very attentively and, one could say, tremulously treated young scientists. Direct contacts with Professor Emanuel were infrequent but became turning and, sometimes, key points of the scientific life of an inexperienced researcher. In our case, his conceptions about diffusion processes playing not an accessory but a dominating role in multi-phase biosystems served the basis of a scientific direction “Transport Phenomena in Structurally Organized Polymer Systems”.
