ABSTRACT

This chapter presents Boundary integral equation method in its indirect variant is employed for the analysis of the three-dimensional electric field of a voltage transformer. Electric field analysis is an important element in the Computer-aided design (CAD) of instrument transformers. Realization of the system based on the proposed model is carried out in the Windows® operating system environment. The module for work in the area of a general-purpose CAD system is a very important one as usually design engineers employ it. Creation of a proper three-dimensional model for numerical computation is one of the most important tasks of the study and design. The framework application for CAD of the instrument transformers uses developed full-feature database management system for storage, management and analysis of input data and results from design as a separate module. Additional software tools have been developed for visualization at pre- and postprocessor levels, making use of ActiveX Automation technology in the AutoCAD environment.
