ABSTRACT
A 50 Ft. Fast Cruising Sailing Yacht has been designed as a final year project of the “B.Eng. (Hons) Yacht ad Powercraft Design” course at the Southampton Solent University (UK). As an engineering degree, the project covers engineering and naval architect features relevant to a preliminary design of a sailing yacht. The project was awarded for the best project by the RINA (The Royal Institution of Naval Architects) and BAE System prize. It was achieved for the good combination of design, engineering and naval architect features covered in the project.
