ABSTRACT

Sustainable maintenance is a new challenge for enterprises realizing concepts of sustainable development. They can be defined as pro-active maintenance operations striving for providing balance in social dimension (welfare and satisfaction of maintenance operators), environmental and economic (losses, consequences, benefits). It requires introducing broad analysis concerning loss or putting into risk continuity of enterprise performance and making optima decisions from the costs and benefits point of view, hence understanding influence of stakeholders (internal and external) on business decisions. One of the aspects of maintenance is introduction of social aspects (after economic and environmental) to analysis of service activities.

The objective of the paper is to explore the specific of socio-technical maintenance management system and to analyze its key elements in sustainable development perspective.
