ABSTRACT

This paper presents a study aiming to establish a comparison between two irons: one that is available in shops, and another one as a concept which design was developed based on the ideas of “emotional design”. The second one was presented as a prototype. The experiment was conducted with thirty participants, 18 women and 12 men. The differential semantic technique was used, and the results were tabulated starting from the sum of the punctuations of the positive segment of the scale, considering their weights. The findings show that the prototype has raised more positive associations about its semantic qualities then the existing one.
