ABSTRACT

The aligment of the foot and shoe-last is the first as well as the most important step in shoe-last fit evaluation. The traditional fit evaluation by comparing the lengths or widths of the foot and shoe-last, which are measured manually, may be costly and time consuming. It is a trend to evaluate the fit of a shoe-last by computer based on the 3D methods. In this way, efficient and accurate fitting result can be achieved through comparing several dimensions, even every point of the 3D shoe-last model with the foot model. The correct and precise alignment can ensure that the following fitting procedures and the final result are significant and effective. This paper presented an algorithm for shoe-last bottom flattening.
