ABSTRACT

In this paper, experiments in creating and modeling organizational structures of companies on different levels, specified above, are presented. Knowledge and application of behavioral factors, especially those culturally determined, play a crucial role in this process. For instance, one of the major factors hindering a smooth transition from ad hoc level to operational management is culturally determined tendency for individualism. Yet, by planning the transition from operational to strategic level, a commonly applied model is a combination of a stiff Prince2 methodology oriented on competences distribution with agile methodologies, even when the projects are not in an IT field.

In the concluding part of a paper, a model of Project management in a dispersed or network organization will be presented. This is an original model combining features necessary to supervise the project by supervisory bodies (eg. sponsor of the project) and enabling a flexible completion of project tasks by their performers. From the technical side, it is available in the form of Java technology based Internet system. Thanks to web applications, joint project work of teams from different organizations is possible and no software, nor IT infrastructure is required.
