To a human body, intensive vibration is transmitted most frequently from the oscillating parts of various machines and equipment, hand-held tools, means of transport, seats, work platforms, ant others. As vibration the motion of an elastic body or medium the individual points of which oscillate about an equilibrium

vibration acts harmfulness is markedly influenced by the reaction of the organism, position of the body and limbs in relation to the direction of vibration, position and size of the area through which the vibration is transmitted to the human organism, and by forces produced by the human during exposure to vibration. It has been proved that vibration causes the unfavourable response of the human organism and that during long-term exposure, permanent damage to human health may occur.
