ABSTRACT

Wood-processing is one of the biggest branches in Latvia where workers suffer from ergonomics risks and unhealthy environment. This research work is dedicated to occupational health problems caused by ergonomic risks of production packers and sawing machine operators working in furniture enterprise. In relation to these occupations problems mostly are associated with chronic pain in neck, shoulders, and legs (NSL) region. The aim of this study was to investigate the NSL muscles fatigue using myotonometry and to estimate the workload hardness categories using methods possible to identify overloads when lifting and moving heavy loads or performing other dynamic operations. The investigation was done in the one year period and with focus on the packers and sawing machine operators who suffered from chronic and repetitive pains of NSL.
