ABSTRACT
Taking knowledge workers as the research object, three key elements of knowledge work processes, thinking, action and information, were proposed to analyze knowledge work processes in-depth and study individual differences. Then a relational “Thinking-Action-Information” (TAI) model was established. By observing and analyzing knowledge work processes, the thinking activity set and the action set were summarized and extracted respectively. To study the matching feasibility of the TAI model with knowledge work processes, a knowledge work experiment about the dimension design was performed to analyze the whole design processes of participants with method of the TAI model, so as to obtain the analysis graphics of knowledge work processes. Finally, the statistical information about knowledge work processes was discussed, and four kinds of differences between “novices” and “experts” were revealed.
