ABSTRACT

The Kyoto Design Declaration, signed in 2008, was the contribution from CUMULUS members to a shared responsibility in achieving a sustainable development. For Communication Designers this commitment means designing while seeking for a balance between social, environmental, and economical aspects. Moreover, to find a new paradigm which is more, respectful, transparent, and culturally meaningful, to the community

Sustainable communication designer is a recent discipline still trying to find a practice, a methodology, and a process fully in favor of sustainability. As we currently investigate it: the proposed path uses research to speak to communities, using their background, their context, to transparently address their needs, to help then finding the required solutions, while causing no waste, or at least the less environmental impact possible.
