Aqueous polyurethane dispersions (PUDs) have been gaining increasing importance in a wide range of applications, due to their excellent properties. These include

Polyurethane (PU) dispersions are especially suitable for painting plastics and wood, and for coating both metallic and mineral substrates. Major markets for waterborne PUs are summarized in Table 14.1.
