ABSTRACT
Twin screw extruders (TSEs) are used to process virtually every type of plastic that is used today. The goal of this chapter is to deŽne how twin screw extrusion (TSEs) can be used to process thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) formulations that contain additive and Žllers into pellets and shapes. Some simple formulas are interspersed with the text to provide insight into how TSEs are designed and the advantages of using TSEs for the synthesis, processing, and compounding of thermoplastic urethanes.
