ABSTRACT
The modern polyurethane industry is based on isocyanate chemistry. This organic functional group is capable of a surprisingly diverse range of chemical reactions. As the foundation of the polyurethane industry, isocyanates are among the most heavily produced specialty organic chemicals. Table 4.1 presents the 1993 isocyanate world capacity. Table 4.2 presents some of the global trademarks utilized in isocyanates.
