ABSTRACT
High concentrations of arsenic (As) and dissolved ferrous iron (Fe(II)) have been widely found in the groundwater from some South East Asian countries. As(III) and As(V) are the predominant chemical forms of As in such water. The use of water containing As has created various health problems, giving top priority to the R & D of lowcost removal technology applicable to both As(III) and As(V).
