ABSTRACT
Pollution of earth crust with Arsenic (As), which is one of the toxic trace elements is considered one of the major environmental problems of this planet. Generally, As is originated from geogenic sources but a wide range of anthropogenic activities including pesticide application, wood preservation, mining, coal combustion etc. increases its concentration in both soil and groundwater (Wang & Zhao 2009). In the ecosystem, As is found in both organic and inorganic forms. Besides drinking As contaminated water, As comes to human food chain when various kinds of crops are grown in the As contaminated soil.
