ABSTRACT
To identify the hazards caused by industrial robots, past accidents need to be carefully analysed. Nicolaisen (1985) states that there is little data available on robot-related accidents, and there may be a high percentage of unrecorded accidents. Accidents involving robot use are difficult to identify in the classification of accidents caused by other machines (Sugimoto and Kawaguchi, 1985; Karwowski et al., 1988).
