ABSTRACT
The topic of medicinal or spice plants has been scattered amid a huge number of resources. There is even no common name for these groups of plants and products. Information can be found under such different captions as condiments, culinary herbs, drug plants, essential oil plants, ethnobotany, flavouring crops, herbaceous agents, herbal drugs, herbal medicine, herbs, medicinal plants, spice plants, spices, traditional medicine, to mention only some of them. Genera Lippia and especially Origanum may in a broader sense also be covered by all of the above broader terms.
