ABSTRACT
This chapter covers all aspects of nematode metabolism, with emphasis on the more recent developments in our understanding of this field. Energy metabolism is discussed first as it is basic to all other metabolic processes. There are large gaps in our knowledge of the details of most metabolic pathways in nematodes, many assumptions have been made and some conclusions necessarily drawn based on analogies with other organisms. The most important of these are identified in the relevant sections. Developmental aspects of metabolism are also discussed where possible or appropriate.
