ABSTRACT

Regardless of progression and prognosis, people with MS worldwide pursue what everyone else pursues: active engagement in the habits and routines of everyday life, performance of the activities that are necessary and important to them, and a balanced and ful„lling life.3,4 Throughout the chapters of this book, internationally recognized experts draw on the best available evidence to explain and support the various ways in which rehabilitation professionals can contribute to enabling people with MS to achieve these goals. MS rehabilitation is an active, person-centered, and goal-oriented process embedded within a respectful and collaborative partnership between the person with MS and the members of his or her rehabilitation treatment team.5,6 This book was prepared to support this process and build these partnerships.
