ABSTRACT

Many scientific and industrial tasks in the domain of micro- and nano-technology require micro-/nano-operations such as pick-and-place, assembly and feeding, combined with large up to several centimetres robotized manipulations. Hydro-MiNa communication system is developed to gather necessary information from users utilizing micro- and nano-manipulation processes in order to formulate precisely their functional task. It is developed as an interactive programme for specifying the user requirements to the robotization of the precise manufacturing process utilizing any micro- and nano-manipulation or operation tasks. The enabling robot technologies developed includes web application for formulation of user functional task in terms of robotics and automation, automation of the synthesis of closed structures for micro- and nano-applications, utilizing the advantages of tense piezo-actuators and closed robot kinematical structures. Most of the robotic systems have a specialized vision module providing real-time control of the process. The number of cameras, their orientation, objective’s magnification and resolution are of great importance.
