ABSTRACT

The aerospace systems demand very high system availability under varied aircraft conditions. Reconfiguration in real-time avionics flight critical system is a process of task or process management having provision to reconfigure the functionality in near real time to the accuracy of one major frame. In civil aircraft applications, the effective use of resource management of hardware and software is the key to the success. Avionics architectures are classified into two major sectors: federated architectures and integrated architectures. Electronics systems on aircraft or the avionics plays a major role in aircraft functionalities such as communication, navigation and flight safety. Implementation of integrated modular avionics (IMA) partitioning system of having time and memory protection needs to have an enhancement to the platform. Partitions in IMA have better fault containment and are very effective if architected well. The very intent of partitioning is to control the hazard of functions sharing a common processor as against the separate processor in federated systems.
