ABSTRACT

Nanoengineered material systems are rapidly evolving areas of science and engineering that hold the promise of creating new techniques to manufacture devices and develop advanced technology: synthesis of nanomaterials, properties of nanomaterials, and engineered nanomaterials. Nanoegineering is fundamentally changing the way materials and devices will be produced and it will be central to the next era of the technology. The ability to develop and engineer materials at the nanoscale level and apply their unique properties to device applications will have great impacts on nan-otechnology, industry, and society.
