Comparison of numerical results with experiments on ultimate strength of stocky stiffened panels

Finite element (FE) codes have been used to analyze the strength of very complicated structures as it can predict in detail the complex collapse behaviour of the stiffened and unstiffened panels (IACS, 2006). The experimental results can be used as validation, but the calculations would give more information to investigate the essence of collapse behaviour.
