ABSTRACT
With the growing industrialization in countries such as China and India, the worldwide oil production was not sufficient to supply the corresponding energy demand (Woodward et al., 2010). In this scenery, LNG appears as one of the alternatives to this growing market. As a consequence, LNG shipment shall follow this growth, also requiring new projects of LNG terminals. Figure 1 shows the historical and projected LNG demand by region (American Gas Foundation, 2008). It can be observed the increasing growth expected to occur in the next years.
