ABSTRACT
Understanding the user’s environment, her behavior, and her intent from sensor data is a key feature of intelligent systems designed to augment the user’s capability, for example, to help older adults and people with disabilities in their daily activities. In this section, we explore key technologies in the general area of visual sensing, that is, systems that can automatically extract information from images and videos from cameras.
