ABSTRACT
Noise is referred to as unwanted sound; it is a common by-product of our mechanized civilization and is an insidious danger in industrial environments. Noise pol lution is usually a local problem and so is not viewed on the same scale of importance as the more high-profile industrial emissions like NOx/ CO, and particulates (see Chapters 14 and 15). Nonetheless, it is an environmental pollutant of significant impact.
