ABSTRACT

A comparison of seven di›erent commercially produced mammography phantoms was done regarding their e›ectiveness over ranges of x-ray tube potential, focal spot size, and magniœcation (Faulkner and Law 1994). A scoring system for quantifying the “degree of visibility” of objects in the phantoms is described and all seven phantoms assessed using that system. None of the phantoms was clearly superior to the others in all respects.
