ABSTRACT
In the literature, we see today an increasing number of scienti‰c papers which use Monte Carlo as the method of choice for the evaluation of a range of nuclear medicine topics such as the determination of scatter distributions, collimator design, and the effects of various parameters upon image quality. So what is the Monte Carlo method and why is it so commonly used as a tool for research and development?
