ABSTRACT

In the context of the new spectral approach of the structure-activity relationship [see Chapter 1 of this volume], the enzymatic activity in terms of Hansch expansion is explored for predicting the equation of the hydrolysis velocity of the acetic acid esters with acetyl-cholinesterase. It follows that the actual spectral algorithm gives a similar prediction respecting the traditional quantitative structure-activity regression analysis so offering the key to replace it, when necessarily. Enzymes and enzymatic reactions are from the first researches in biochemistry of great interests due to their major role in catalysis, metabolism, but also from the point of view of inhibitors, drugs, and proteins [1].
