ABSTRACT

In the last 20 years, bronchoscopy, especially flexible bronchoscopy, has emerged as an important diagnostic tool for pulmonary pediatricians.8,29,38 Technical improvements have led to the development of small instruments that are now suitable for use in neonates, even those born prematurely.37 Bronchoscopy, however, is still underutilized, particularly for infants on neonatal intensive care units (NICUs).
