ABSTRACT
The community is defined as all settings that are outside major hospitals. Care settings in the community are those that provide healthcare, social care and other welfare services. These include Primary Care Trusts (PCTs), community hospitals, care homes, hostels, day-care and home-care services, schools, colleges, nurseries and prisons. Other community settings are workplaces, leisure centres, hotels, restaurants, shops, places of entertainment, communal areas, transport, and homes and gardens.
