ABSTRACT

Individual Statement Questions (ISQs) and Extended Matching Items (EMIs) were introduced in both the basic sciences and clinical topics written papers for the MRCPsych Part II in autumn 2003. The breakdown of ISQs in the papers in this book (as suggested by the Royal College of Psychiatrists) is a rough guide, intended to give candidates an idea of the areas of the curriculum that are covered by the examination. However, questions on other areas of the curriculum may be included. The exact number of questions from each area is also a rough guide. There is no official breakdown that covers the EMI component of either the basic sciences or the clinical topics paper. In both papers:
