ABSTRACT

There is no negative marking in the written examination. The clinical examination has two parts:

Multiple choice question papers One multiple choice question paper has questions from the basic sciences and the other covers clinical topics. Both papers consist of 165 Individual Statement Questions (ISQs) and 15 Extended Matching Items (EMIs) based on five themes. Each EMI has four components: the theme, options, lead-in (i.e. instructions) and three questions. See Section 2, Chapter 5 for further details of the format of these papers.
