ABSTRACT

The aim of this chapter is to provide working examples of decision-making that you the

reader, whether a student, qualified nurse or educationalist, can use to enhance practice.

The reflective exercises aim to develop skills, knowledge and confidence. The examples

described are complex in nature to allow you to understand the influencers that are

intrinsic to mental health care. Although the scenarios are drawn from real clinical

experiences the details within all scenarios are purely for training purposes and service

user/patient confidentiality has been maintained throughout.
