ABSTRACT

Fractures of the acetabulum should be considered as a quite separate and distinct entity. Outcome measures for these are again based on clinical and radiological features and in addition, include scoring systems that have been modified from total hip arthroplasty outcomes. These arthroplasty outcome measures, although widely utilized in current clinical practice for the purpose of acetabular fracture outcome measurement, were not designed for that role and therefore have not been rigorously validated and scrutinized.
