ABSTRACT
Children’s nurses find many types of procedures stressful and sometimes traumatic, and often have questions around when and how such procedures should be initiated. The chapter will begin by examining the complex issues around clinical holding. This chapter will aim to outline the importance of communication and psychological nourishment of children undergoing invasive procedures. This will be followed by a clear plan for decision-making.
