ABSTRACT
All negative pressure ventilators have two major components: an airtight, rigid chamber that encloses the rib cage and abdomen, and a pump that generates pressure changes in the chamber. For a recent comprehensive review of negative pressure ventilators see Corrado and Gorini1 (Fig. 3.1).
